Sweat was dripping down my face in the blistering heat of Honduras as I mixed cement. The new latrines would provide health and well-being for the families of the village. This brought satisfaction to my heart and hope to the community.
5000 miles (about twice the width of the United States) away, sitting in the home of a Ugandan family, I had the privilege of praying and ministering to the family of a child who attended our sports outreach. I felt humbled by their joy in the midst of such a simple lifestyle.
My heart sank upon seeing the shanty towns and squatter camps of South Africa. I sensed a calling on my life of generosity and service.
What’s up everyone my name is Josiah Reutener. These experiences profoundly impacted my life and set me on a trajectory of a life of service. This has led me to the world race gap tour. A couple of interesting facts about me are I am 19 years old, and from Suwanee, Georgia. Currently, I am attending Middle Georgia State University pursuing a degree in Aviation Science and Management with a focus in flight. I love flying and plan to become a pilot. I am also passionate about camping, athletics, and watching Christopher Nolan movies. Ever since my last trip to Uganda, I have felt passionate about giving more of my life to Christ through generosity and service. I have made the choice to embark on a year of service with the World Race, taking the gospel to Guatemala, Cambodia, and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland).
